William Gallas urges Arsenal to make new signings in January

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas believes the club should make changes to the squad when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year. The north London giants have endured a difficult 2020/21 campaign in the Premier League and they have attained just 14 points from 13 games into the season.

That is already their worst ever start since the league was formed in 1992 and that has led to criticism from a certain section of the fans. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta continues to retain the support from the hierarchy and a major section of the supporters, but there is bound to be some transfer activity at the turn of the year.

GUNNERSAURUS RETURNS TO ARSENAL

Mesut Ozil (who famously offered to pay the salary of Gunnersaurus) has reacted after the mascot made a return to the Emirates. As of Tuesday, Jerry Que who plays the role of the mascot for over 27 years now, tweeted from the sidelines of the home stadium with the caption: “Back at Emirates Stadium today”

The 2014 World Cup winner Mesut Ozil took his time to express his happiness after the news of the reinstatement of the mascot at the Emirates Stadium. Gunnersaurus as of last month was sacked by the club as part of its job-cutting scheme to help with the financial deficiency caused by Covid-19. The decision wasn’t positively received as it prompted a negative clamor from sections of Arsenal’s fanbase and global support with the hashtag #JusticeForGunnersaurus.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that the club are making good progress under Mikel Arteta. The Spanish manager was appointed as the replacement for Unai Emery back in December 2019. After a lot of doubts were raised about the experience of the former Arsenal midfielder when it comes to coaching world-class players, the 38-year-old has been able to create a strong impression. He has clearly learned a lot from his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. For several years, Arsenal were criticised as a team who could not perform in away matches against the top six.

Such a criticism has come to an end with Arsenal registering a 1-0 win over Manchester United last weekend. This was the first away win against a top six outfit by Arsenal in the last five years. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the penalty that provided a victory for the gunners. Wright says that Arsenal have done plenty of good business during the summer and it is again a sign of maturity from Arteta. The former Arsenal forward expects the positivity to continue going forward. Even after a run of four victories from the opening seven matches, Arsenal find themselves in the ninth place of the table. This is largely down to a string of good performances from teams like Leicester, Southampton, Wolves, and Aston Villa.

Paul Merson speaks on Arsenal’s pursuit of Gabriel Magalhaes

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has said that Arsenal will make a big statement by signing Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been on the radar of numerous European sides. The Brazilian was on the radar of the likes of Chelsea and most recently Manchester United but reports claim that he has chosen to join the north London side.

No Offers yet for Dembele andAouar, claims Rudi Garcia

Lyon manager RudiGarcia has revealed thatstriker Moussa Dembele and midfielder Houssem Aouar have not yet received any offers from the clubs. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer trying to strengthening the attacking side of Manchester United, Dembele is one of the options that can be used.

Aouar has also had interests from clubs like Manchester City and Juventus. Sporting director of Lyon has said that when the summer transfer window opens both the players can leaveif they want to.

Luiz: Man City Loss was my Fault

David Luiz has accepted that he is the reason for Arsenal’s loss against Manchester City. In the match against Manchester City towards the end of the season, they lost to City 3–0, with the defence (led by Luiz) not up to mark, and at fault for all three of the goals Arsenal went on to concede.

With his performance at the match, many have said that he will be not having any furthermore future at Arsenal. His contract will be coming to an end at this season but the player wishes to stay at North London for one more season, and the fact that he was instrumental in bringing fellow Brazilian Gabriel to the club seems to suggest he will still be plying his trade at the Emirates for a few more months yet.

Arsenal needs to strengthen their team, says Mikel Arteta

Arsenal manager knows that his club has its own weakness and they will surely need to more players in the summer transfer window to strengthen the club as a team. The club has beaten the champions, Liverpool, in their previous match for 2–1. The match began with the first goal from Sadio Mane but with so many errors from the opposition, Arsenal was able to pull off two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson. Even though they have won the match, the club is currently on ninth position with 40 point Gap between Liverpool.
