CHELSEA BATTLE ARSENAL, TOTTENHAM FOR EVERTON STAR RICHARLISON

Chelsea are looking at Richarlison amid heavy interest from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, with the Everton star likely to depart the Toffees. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are ready to battle London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham for Richarlison as Thomas Tuchel eyes key attacking reinforcements in the summer. The Blues could target the Brazilian, who could depart Everton in the current window.

After winning the Champions League in the previous campaign and being immediately touted as potential title challengers, Chelsea finished the season without any trophies. They did make two domestic finals, only to be defeated on penalties by Liverpool on both occasions. Amid all the turmoil with the Government sanctions and scrutiny over Roman Abramovich’s connections with Vladimir Putin, Chelsea and their manager have come through a difficult storm. Since the ownership issues have been resolved, Tuchel is planning a fresh start, beginning with an important summer window.

ARSENAL LOSE TWO SUCCESSIVE LEAGUE GAMES

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and his players have now lost their last two games in the Premier League thus hurting their chances of finishing in the Champions League places. Only the first four teams in the Premier League will secure passage into the Champions League ahead of next season.

Arteta and his players were in fourth spot before the start of their current two-game losing run. They had four more points than North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in fifth spot before the two teams met at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday. The Gunners four-point advantage had been reduced to just one point by the time the derby came to an end thanks to the 3-0 win recorded by the home team. England striker Harry Kane scored twice in the first half which saw Arsenal defender Rob Holding sent off for two yellow cards for two separate fouls on South Korean star Son Heung-Min. Son added a third goal at the start of the second half to seal the win for Spurs thus moving them within one point of their opponents.

WEST HAM BATTLING DORTMUND FOR ARSENAL-OWNED STAR

Football London have reported that both West Ham and Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Konstantinos Mavropanos. The Arsenal star is expected to complete a permanent move to Stuttgart, before being sold again. Mavropanos, 22, has been on loan at Stuttgart for the past two seasons. A couple of injuries limited the Greece star to just 22 outings last term – but this season he has already played 30 times, scoring an impressive five goals.

The loan comes to an end this summer, but Stuttgart have the option to sign him for £2.5million; that is expected to happen, as per Football London. However, Stuttgart are now expected to sell him on and make a big profit. In what could be a loss to Arsenal, BILD claim Stuttgart rate him in the region of £21million. A new report from Football London states that West Ham and Dortmund are among those interested, ahead of the summer.

ARSENAL COULD FINALLY LAND THEIR LONG-TERM TARGET THIS SUMMER

Arsenal have received a major boost in their attempts to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. The Argentine is one of several strikers being courted by the Gunners after Mikel Arteta’s personal request. Arsenal could be about to land Martinez at a bargain price as his time at Inter Milan could be drawing to a close. The striker is one of the top options being scouted by the Gunners.

Manager Arteta is desperate to sign a striker this summer after making the position a priority in the transfer window. After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left in January, it has left Arsenal bereft of options up front.

TOTTENHAM COULD SIGN ARSENAL TARGET FOR JUST £23 MILLION

Tottenham Hotspur could sign Joe Gomez, who is also an Arsenal target from Liverpool for £23 million during the summer, according to a report from the Daily Express. Perhaps surprisingly, Gomez is one of the Liverpool players being most heavily linked with a move away. He was, of course, absolutely vital in the campaign in which they strolled to the Premier League title.

Unfortunately, he missed the large majority of last season due to injury. And he is yet to regain his spot in the side. In fact, he has only completed 90 minutes once in the Premier League this season. His struggles appear to have alerted a host of sides. Reports have claimed that Tottenham, Newcastle, Leicester and West Ham all want the 24-year-old.

CITY STAR LINKED WITH SHOCK MOVE TO ARSENAL

In what appears to be a somewhat unbelievable story, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a surprise move to Arsenal this summer. The Gunners are still looking for options to sign this summer as they wish to replace the departed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and their hunt has led them directly to Jesus. Although it is hard to imagine Jesus signing for Arsenal, the last couple of years have shown us that there is nothing impossible in football.

The fact that Aubameyang was allowed to leave and is scoring for fun at Barca and Lacazette and Nketiah, both of whom are out of contract in June, and are certainly not scoring, makes the attacking department at the Emirates a real story.

ARSENAL EYEING THIRD STRAIGHT LEAGUE WIN

North London giants Arsenal were on a run of five straight wins in the Premier League before a blank January came along. They were unable to win any of their two league games in January and also crashed out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest and Liverpool respectively in the same month. In league terms, their five-game winning run was stopped by the controversial 2-1 home defeat to holders Manchester City having led 1-0 at the break. In the second and final league game of January, Arsenal dominated proceedings against Burnley, but they were not able to find a past their opponents as the two teams played out a goalless draw.

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the league with the 1-0 away win over fellow Champions League football chasers Wolverhampton Wanderers penultimate Thursday and the win also came with a controversy after Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli was sent off for the Gunners in the second half for two yellow cards in the space of four seconds in the same play without the game being stopped.

He had sustained a muscle injury during the recent Premier League clash at Leeds United but he’s thought to have recovered from that injury. The Japanese utility defender went off injured during the second half of the Leeds game and he had to be replaced by Portuguese player Cedric Soares.
