Shkodran Mustafi says he follows everything Islam says

Shkodran Mustafi says he follows everything Islam says and he would make sure none of his acts ever go against the principles of Islam.

At his previous club in Spain, Mustafi had shown how hard core an Islamic person he is when he had refused to give an interview to the media just because a liquor container was kept on the table in the media hall.

The liquor brand was one of the sponsors of that Spanish club and as per their agreement, a container had to be displayed in all the press conferences, but, it’s something which Islam strictly prohibits, the use of liquor.

So, Mustafi, out of respect for his religion, pulled out. However, he had to do the press conference later as the club could not breach the agreement it had with its sponsor already and that he was told.

Remembering it, the young defender said, “It wasn’t that anyone was displeased about it. They knew why I was not willing to sit at that place. There was no way out eventually and it was not removed, but, I received an apology from Valencia authorities and from the sponsors as well.”

ARSENAL PLAN FOR CARRASCO IF MKHITARYAN DEAL FAILS

English Premier League side Arsenal FC are set to make a bid for Atletico Madrid player Yannick Carrasco should Henrikh Mkhitaryan join Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

Arsenal missed out on the Premier League yet again last season despite a long trophy drought and Coach Arsene Wenger’s continued stay was questioned like never before. Despite buying Swiss play maker Granit Xhaka, he wants Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan to join them in the summer.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is having issues with leaving his club and has even hinted at a likely transfer to Manchester United if the club finally agrees. Wenger, who has lost out in the purchase of several players in recent times, has prepared to lure Carrasco from Atletico after the player’s impressive performance in the UEFA Champions League and at the ongoing Euro 2016 tournament in France.

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal are prepared to meet the release clause of the player as they hope to reach greater heights in the Premier League and Europe, despite the increased competition. There are reports that Mkhitaryan is still the top choice but it is increasingly tough as the Red Devils made an improved £28m bid for the player who has told his club he wants out.

Do Arsenal need Van Persie back?

Reports this week have emerged stating Robin van Persie has become disillusioned with life at Old Trafford and wants to return to Le Grove. The ‘reliable sources’ claim the striker’s agent has met with manager Arsene Wenger to discuss a move back to Arsenal in the summer, with the Gunners boss indicating he would be open to his return.

RVP WILL STAY

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has said that the club are not prepared to let Robin van Persie leave the Emirates in the summer. Robin van Persie is out of contract in the summer of 2013. Hence, there have been reports that Arsenal will be willing to negotiate a deal with other clubs interested in signing the Dutchman.

This is very similar to the move Samir Nasri made to Manchester City. Despite being in the last year of his contract, Arsenal managed to negotiate a £ 25 million deal for Samir Nasri. Even though it may have had potential repercussions in terms of the performance on the field, the financial situation of Arsenal has become even more healthy.

Hence, there have been some suggestions that Arsenal will also be interested in discussing a deal for Robin van Persie, who is the current top scorer at the club. Manchester City and Real Madrid are the clubs interested in the Dutchman, who has scored 34 goals in the previous calendar year alone. It is thought that Robin van Persie has grown tired of life at Emirates due to the lack of trophies. The exit from the Champions League this season also seems to be confirmed after the 4-0 loss at the hands of AC Milan recently.

“Arsenal are not stupid. If he sees out his contract he will be 30. Real Madrid and Barcelona are not going to recruit him at 30. Van Persie feels powerless and anxious. There is no way any club will pay £40m for him this summer, because of his age. This makes him a £20m player and Arsenal don’t need to sell him for that,” an insider told about the decision made by Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis. Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier league table.
